Tuesday 25th April
Anzac Day at Gallipoli
Awake before sun rise for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service. We become aware of the almost deafening silence as the moving service to commemorate our fallen forefathers on this special day begins. You will then have the chance to visit the Chunuk Bair Memorial to attend the New Zealand Memorial Service before we cross the Dardanelles and drive to Ayvalik for a well-deserved rest. Unfortunately the Australian service at the Lone Pine memorial has been cancelled.

Absorb yourself in history today with a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis and a guided tour of the ancient city and theatre of Ephesus. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and next we learn how carpets are made by hand and what determines their value before an afternoon visit to the former Greek village of Sirince, famous for its fruit wines.
