Thursday August 5

Istanbul

Welcome to Istanbul, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight, meet with your guide and the rest of your group. Overnight Istanbul
Day 2
Friday August 6

Istanbul Old City

This morning, you will enjoy a fully guided tour of the only city to span two continents, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace and the Hippodrome before driving west along the Sea of Marmara towards the Gallipoli Peninsula. Tonight we will enjoy an introductory information session on the Gallipoli campaign. Overnight Canakkale (B)

Saturday August 7

ANZAC Cove, The Nek

Today our first stop is ANZAC Cove where we spend time walking the landing beach and visit the nearby beach cemetery before continuing on to Lone Pine (Australian) and Chunuk Bair (New Zealand) Memorials, Johnston's Jolly and the Gallipoli museum. Early afternoon we will stop at the Nek for a short memorial service at the location where on 7 August 1915, two regiments of the Australian 3rd Light Horse Brigade mounted a tragic attack on the Turkish trenches. Sunday August 8

Suvla Bay, Cape Helles

We awake before sunrise s and head to ANZAC cove for a private dawn service to commemerate our fallen forefathers. We then continue our tour visiting the various battlefields and memorials spread throughout the Gallipoli penninsula such as Suvla Bay and Cape Hellas. Late afternoon we take a final drive along the road from Lone Pine to Chunuk Bair for the opportunity to grab any photos you may wish to add to your collection. Overnight Canakkale (B, L)

Canakkale

Today is a free day to explore the small town of Canakkale or maybe enjoy a day trip to enjoy the beaches of the Turkish Island of Gokceada. Overnight Canakkale (B)

Tuesday August 10

Troy, Acropolis of Pergamum

Step back in time today as we visit Troy and its famed Trojan Horse, followed by a tour of the magnificent acropolis of Pergamum. Its impressive temples and library made it a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. Overnight Kusadasi (B, D)

Wednesday August 11

Ephesus, Kusadasi

Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and at the carpet village we learn how carpets are made by hand and what determines their value. Overnight Kusadasi (B, D)

Pamukkale, Hierapolis

This morning we will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods before heading towards the the magnificent white calcium terraces of Pamukkale where we will tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. Take a dip in the hot springs that were used in Roman times for their therapeutic powers. Overnight Marmaris (B, D)

Koycegiz, Kayakoy

This morning we drive towards the picturesque lakeside town of Koycegiz, where we join a day cruise to visit turtle beach and the mud baths. Late afternoon we head to the resort town of Fethiye visiting the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy on the way. Overnight Fethiye (B, L)

Fethiye

Today you have the option to relax on a day cruise around the 12 Islands of Fethiye, go paragliding or maybe chill out on a nearby beach, the choice is yours. Overnight Fethiye (B)

Saklikent, Antalya

Experience one of Turkey’s highlights today as we trek up Saklikent Gorge, Turkey’s longest and deepest canyon. Saklikent is literally a mountain split down the middle by an earthquake. Overnight Antalya (B)

Tinaz Tepe Cave, Konya, Cappadocia

Early departure for Cappadocia, stopping en-route to visit Konya and the the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi with its accompanying museum. This afternoon we also stop to visit Sultanhani Caravanseri, the largest in Anatolia. Overnight Cappadocia (B,D)

Goreme, Uchisar Castle

Marvel at the lunar landscape of Cappadocia with a fully guided tour of Goreme Valley, the fairy chimneys, Uchisar castle and more. Tonight, don't miss the optional traditional Turkish folklore evening! Overnight Cappadocia (B)

Ihlara Valley, Underground City

Ankara

Early morning departure to the nation's capital, Ankara where we visit Anitkabir, mausoleum of the famed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, before returning to Istanbul. (Optional morning flight to Istanbul from Kayseri, Cappadocia) Overnight Istanbul (B)

Istanbul
